This is a puzzlehunt!

So... what is a puzzle hunt?

You can read more about them here, but here's the gist:

• Each puzzle resolves to an answer which will be an English word or phrase.

• The way to get these answers will vary from puzzle to puzzle.

• Solving puzzles will unlock more puzzles.

• Answers to puzzles will be used in metapuzzles.

How difficult is this hunt?

We expect the difficulty to be somewhere in between The VeheMusical and CMU Fall 24 Puzzlehunt.

How many puzzles will there be?

We have less than 20 puzzles total in two short rounds.

When does it start?

Puzzles will unlock at 31 Oct at 0000 hrs UTC, but you need to solve the prepuzzle to see the show!

When does it end?

Never!

Can I stream my solve?

Since this is intended to be a non-competitive hunt, feel free to stream your solve at any point.

Will there be a leaderboard?

Yes! This hunt is however in "Speedrun mode". Teams who start late will have their time calculated from registration, not from hunt start.

Who wrote this?

We are The Mathemagicians and can often be found on leaderboards with acronymic team names containing 'Mathemagicians'!

About 20 of us wrote this hunt, potluck style. This is our first hunt written for nearly all of us!

How many guesses do I get?

You get 20 guesses per puzzle. Please use them wisely! In rare cases, we may grant more guesses if you email us.

Who do we contact for hints/errata/etc?

We have stopped checking our emails for hints. We recommend asking your friends or a public forum like Puzzle World discord server.
